I
was born in 1950 to Bill & Kitty, we lived and still live
in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
My father Bill was the pianist and leader of the Billy Clare
dance band throughout the war years and well into the late
50's.
He bought me my first guitar when I was about 6. I fell in
love with rock 'n' roll and left school at the age of 15 in
order to pursue my musical dreams.
I proceeded to play with a host of local bands. I recorded
my first record with one of these, It was a song written by
Paul Raven (later to become Gary Glitter). The band was called
"Banzai" and the song was titled "Get out of
Bed".
I joined Pete Oakman and the band over 30 years ago.
As well as playing as The Bruvvers, Pete and I teamed up with
legendary producer and song writer Roger Greenaway, who started
life as one half of David & Jonathon, the other half being
Roger Cook of Blue Mink fame.
We released a few singles under the name of "Harley Quinne".
One of the records "New Orleans" charted and we
began a brief career under this new name.
We
were also very busy on the session circuit playing for a host
of artists and over the years we have played and toured with
the likes of :-
